eBible is a new service that offers interesting ways to explore scripture. The front page presents three tabs: use, understand, and share. You can search the Bible, read commentary, and explore scripture through tags made by other users. Toolbars are offered for browsers, enabling you to do a Bible search as easily as you would search the web through the Google or Yahoo toolbars.

A glaring weakness of the service is the lack of the New International Version translation of the Bible, which is the most popular of modern translations. Other websites, such as BibleGateway, allow easy searching through the NIV translation. Will people be drawn to eBible even if they offer a translation that differs from their own?

A better looking logo and the inclusion of NIV scripture would greatly benefit eBible.
