Jaiku Offers Social Phonebook

Jaiku is a phone book that displays the real-time presence and location of your contacts. The service is currently limited to people who use a Nokia S60 Second Edition cell phone, and is in early beta.

Jaiku listens for updates from the server in the background, and updates the rich presence display of your contacts when you browse. In normal use, Jaiku transfers about 10MB of data per month.
In normal use in GSM mode, running Jaiku will require you to charge the battery about every 2 days. 3G consumes more power, and having your phone in 3G mode will cause the battery to drain more quickly.

There isn't any mention of expanding the service to other cell phone makes and models. From the description, the service seems easy to use. However, there's already a number of services that revolve around social networking through cell phones, including Dodgeball.

This is a great nokia s60 software. This would be great for sales people and teenagers for social networking.

Well, a lot of other services are doing virtually the same thing across many cell phone makes and models... It's a good idea but needs to be developed further and expanded.
