Tag Based Chatrooms on Lingr

Lingr provides a non-hassle way to create and enjoy live chatroom conversations. The service was built with Ruby on Rails. The realtime conversations are made possible with Comet, a technology that is neither traditional nor Ajax. Examples of other Comet applications are Writely, Meebo, and Campfire.

Anyone can create a chatroom and add tags to describe it. If your website or company needs a realtime way to chat with visitors or customers, this would be a great service for you to look into. You can even create a "badge" to provide a live overview of your chatroom right on your own webpage. This will show the chatroom image, name, and number of users.

I really like this service due to its simplicity and easy of use. I was unable to find information about how the company plans to make money.
