Seth Godin is the founder of Changethis and Squidoo. He is the author of many successful entrepreneurship & business books such as, "Small is the New Big," "Purple Cow," and "Permission Marketing," just to name a few. He is a renowned speaker, and also writes regularly on his widely read blog. A man that all the next generation of entrepreneurs should know on a first name basis if you don't already.

After Web 2.0, there has been the talk of a Web 3.0 mobile applications internet. But, in your eyes, where do you see our next economy going to?

The internet is stupid.

The smart internet will not only know a lot more about me, it will use that information for me, not as a weapon to sell me. It will not only know about me, it’ll know where I am and where my friends are and what we’re trying to accomplish.

What qualities would you say contributed the most to your successes?

An unwillingness to settle. Restlessness. The fact that they invented the Internet just in time to leverage the skills I had. And I’d have to say--treating consumers the way I’d want to be treated.

Based on all the startups that have been acquired, what words of wisdom can you give to the next generation of entrepreneurs about creating something remarkable as opposed to being one more of the many copycats that are out to make a quick buck?

The irony, of course, is that the harder you work to make a quick buck, the less likely you will make a quick buck. Safe is risky, risky is safe and the long run is the best run.

How can you tell with all the advertising mediums like blogs and RSS feeds available to us today, which is the best tool to use for your startup?

I think the best method remains the same: doing something that people choose to talk about, regardless of medium.

How do you become a pioneer for catching rifts? Are there blogs you can frequent, books you can read, or organizations like Toastmasters you can join to become adept in the skill of catching rifts?

All of the above. The hardest thing is the desire to do it. Once you set out to do it, the information and the skills will present themselves.
