Business Cards That Stand Out
Flickr member dailypoetics has a set titled "Business Cards" containing hundreds of pictures of uniquely designed cards. If you're in the market for business cards and want them to stand out, these photos might give you some good (or weird) ideas.
I discovered the set via creativebits. Since imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, here are some of my favorite designs:
Making your business cards out of metal will make people feel guilty about throwing them away.
To ensure that your cards are not intercepted and read by your competitors, use wax and seal them with your signet ring. Don't have a signet ring? A checkers piece will do.
You can anti-idiot-proof your cards by making your info only readable using the reflective "mirror" on the opposite side of the card. This renders the card unreadable to idiots.
Now here's a great way to spend money to make it look like you didn't...
Quite impressive. A business card that has a highly detailed popup when you open it. Now if they could get that phone to actually work...
A card designed like a miniature map, directing the person to the business.
The text on this card doesn't appear until you scratch the design.
After giving this to someone, inform them that since you ran out of blank cards, you decided to use the next best thing.
If you run out of blank cards and clothespins, here's the next best thing.
People will have no idea what you look like until they get together and figure out the puzzle. Receiving the "nose piece" is definitely awkward.
Always remember to give credit where credit is due.

What I'd like to know is where one can get these cards for themselves...
Ah... A business idea perhaps?
I like this idea so much, I included it in the recent blog post I wrote at http://www.innnovators-network.org
Catching the fickle eye among the chaff of badly designed business cards is no small feat. Some of these examples are fantastic! Onwards.
