Developers Rejoice: Safari Now on Windows

screen.jpg Cross-browser compatibility is something that's important to think about no matter what type of Web 2.0 startup you're developing. If you're developing on a Windows machine, you probably haven't had the "luxury" of testing things on "the world's best browser", otherwise known as Safari.

Despite the outlandish claim that Apple makes about its not-so-popular browser, developers should know that Safari actually has a 3-5% share of the browser market. In other words, if your service does not work on Safari, then you will be losing 3-5% of your potential members.

Therefore, Apple's release of Safari for Windows is definitely good news for Windows users working on a Web 2.0 startup.

Update: It looks like the launch hasn't gone as smoothly as Apple had hoped, but that's what public betas are for, right?
